Spring is the perfect time to explore the magic of nature and make the most of the outdoors. Join the Libraries for a series of fun activities featuring art and crafts, animals and all things natural.

- Cost is $4 per child per activity.
- Bookings and online payment are essential, there will be no refunds issued.
- Parents/carers of children under 12 years are required by library policy to remain in the building while their children attend the event.
- There is a maximum of three events per child.

Natural weaving looms
Wednesday 25 September, 2pm-3pm, Whitford Library.
Discover how to create looms from tree prunings and repurposed fabric scraps. When finished they can be hung on a door or wall, above a bed or anywhere else you can think of. Suitable for ages 7 – 12 years. Book via Ticketbooth
Spider safari – FULLY BOOKED
Thursday 26 September, 2pm-3.30pm, Duncraig Library
If you see a spider in your house, do you run away screaming? Or do you get excited? Spiders may have a bad reputation, however they are actually vital for healthy ecosystems and have fascinating behaviours. Join entomologist Dr Lizzy Lowe to learn all about these weird and wonderful invertebrates and go on an outdoor ‘spider walk’ near the Library and see what you can find. Cards in bloom

Spend a relaxing hour using different techniques to decorate a card, bookmark, or mini booklet to share with friends. Explore paper collage, mosaic and three-dimensional folding techniques to personalise your Spring paper gifts.

Aquatic animals – FULLY BOOKED
Friday 4 October, 1.30pm-3pm, Duncraig Library
Join Critters up Close and learn about a range of fascinating sea creatures and how they live. In this interactive session you will help to build a salt and freshwater ecosystem with plant life and coral to house a range of non-venomous sea creatures.
