There was love to be found in the library…

14 February is Library Lover’s Day! It is a day to honour libraries, librarians, bookworms and all the library lovers in your life.

The Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) and Joondalup Libraries are asking library lovers to celebrate their library.

What’s not to love?

  • 7,162 of you joined a City of Joondalup library in 2018
  • 516,334 visitors were recorded at Duncraig, Joondalup, Whitford and Woodvale Library
  • You could choose from 386,304 items to borrow, download or stream
  • 114,556 members visited the catalogue and viewed over 3.1million pages.

Competition – get involved

In 2019, ALIA is running a 200 word flash fiction story competition. The story can be about anything, however it has to start with the writing prompt ‘there was love to be found in the library’
