The April school holiday program at Joondalup Libraries is packed with activities to inspire creativity and encourage curiosity. 

Bookings for the activities below open online on Monday 23 March at 9am  

Please note: 

  • cost is $5 per child per activity 
  • bookings and online payment are essential, there will be no refunds issued
  • Parents/carers of children under 12 years are required by library policy to remain in the building while their children attend the event
  • there is a maximum of two events per child
  • bookings are essential.

Music Madness 
Tuesday 7 April, 2-3pm, Woodvale Library Get ready to make some noise these school holidays! In this fun, hands-on workshop, kids will explore the basics of music-making using colourful, percussive boom whackers. Participants will enjoy learning about rhythm, teamwork, and the joys of making music. Suitable for ages 8-12 years.
Birds of Prey
Wednesday 8 April, 2-3pm, Joondalup Library Get up close and personal with nature’s top predators! Take the opportunity to hold and feel a bird of prey, while learning lots of interesting facts about these fascinating creatures. Suitable for ages 5-12 years. 
Dinosaur Dig 
Friday 10 April, 2-3pm, Duncraig Library Join us for a dinotastic adventure as we learn all about Mary Anning, the famous “Dinosaur Lady.” Then grab your tools and try out her fossil hunting skills yourself - dig up your very own mini dinosaur and create a fossil imprint to take home! Suitable for ages 5-8 years.
Critters up CloseTuesday 14 April, 10-11am, Woodvale Library Snakes, lizards, crazy crabs, minibeasts, frogs and much more! In this fun and educational wildlife session children will learn about our ecosystems and get hands-on with some amazing creatures. Suitable for ages 5-12 years.
Giant Flower Fun 
Wednesday 15 April, 10-11.30am, Whitford Library Get ready for a burst of colour and creativity! Join us for a fun, hands-on workshop where you can craft your own giant paper flowers. With vibrant petals, these oversized blooms make a stunning decoration and a joyful keepsake to take home. A perfect activity for young makers who love to create big, beautiful things! Suitable for ages 8-12 years.
First Steps in Cross StitchThursday 16 April, 2-3.30pm, Joondalup Library 

Join us for a fun and creative cross stitch session designed especially for kids!  Children will learn the basics of this relaxing craft and make their very own stitched design to take home.  Get crafty and discover how much fun tiny stitches can be! No experience needed. Suitable for ages 8-12 years.

Funky Fish PrintsFriday 17 April, 10-11am, Duncraig Library Join Blue Crew for a splashy mix of marine biology and artsy fun! Discover what makes a fish a fish, then unleash your creativity by crafting your own unique fish print using high-quality fish replicas. Suitable for ages 10-12 years. 
Beach to YouFriday 17 April, 2-3pm, Whitford Library 

Keep your toes sand-free while a marine scientist brings beach wonders right to you!  Dive into the excitement of handling real shark eggs, sea urchins, sea horses and other marvellous sea creatures that wash up on Perth’s beaches. Suitable for ages 5 – 12 years.

Free activities – no bookings required 

Autumn Treasure Hunt 

  • Visit the Libraries any time during the school holidays and see if you can find all ten images hidden in the Children’s area.  

Holiday Toddler Time 

  • Woodvale Library, 10am 
  • Thursday 9 April and Thursday 16 April 
  • Join in these special holiday Toddler Time sessions, with stories, singing, movement and active play. Suitable for children 18-30 months. 

Holiday time 

  • Join the Libraries for interactive play and creative storytelling during our regular Story Time sessions. Suitable for families and children of all ages.
