The City of Joondalup offers a large range of beaches, community facilities, parks and tennis courts to hire. These may be used to hold events such as weddings, birthday parties and other functions.

There are 35 venues available for hire throughout the City, providing you with a large choice for your next meeting or function. The facilities range in size and functionality from small meeting rooms to large halls capable of catering for up to 300 people.

The City of Joondalup has many ideal locations that make entertaining children a breeze. The City has an abundance of outdoor parks and beaches that are suitable for children’s parties along with a number of suitable indoor community facilities when the weather is not on your side.

You only require a booking on a park if the following applies:

  • number of guests attending is more than 50 people.
  • a request to consume alcohol is required.
  • any entertainment or infrastructure is to be brought onto the park, such as a bouncy castle, petting zoo, face painter, etc.
  • a high-risk birthday celebration, such as sixteenth, eighteenth, twenty-first. 
  • holding a wedding ceremony.
  • if you are a commercial business.

Important note: even with a booking it is public open space and the City does not guarantee exclusive use or allow any area to be cordon off. The City does not take bookings for tables, gazebos and barbeques located on the reserve and these are on a first come first served basis.

Event organisers are required to submit an expression of interest to host an event within the City of Joondalup. It is recommended that you discuss your request with the Community Facilities Bookings Team on 9400 4000.

Important note: Submission of an application does not imply approval. Allow approximately 2-4 weeks to obtain in-principal approval, depending on the type of event.

The City employs dedicated officers to oversee and maintain its facilities. The first point of contact during work hours for all building maintenance requests and queries relating to lease agreements should be directed to the City’s Property Officer via info@joondalup.wa.gov.au.

For after hours (5pm - 8.30am, weekends and public holidays) maintenance emergencies at City buildings, please call 9400 4000.

To report an alarm activation or request a response to an alarm from a City building, please call 9400 4000.

Book online via the Venue Booking System

An account will need to be created to be able to proceed to make a booking.

Table and chairs are provided in all venues. Please visit the In my neighbourhood map to view the virtual tour to check the room you are requesting and the amenities for each room

Permission to consume alcohol must be requested on the booking form. If permission is granted this will be issued along with the approval confirmation.

A booking is required for a park if any of the following applies:

  • Alcohol will be consumed.
  • More than 50 people will be attending.
  • Any infrastructure, such as a bouncy castle, will be set up in the park.
  • The event is a wedding ceremony.
  • The event is considered high risk, such as hen or buck parties.

Yes, a bouncy castle is permitted with an approved booking.

Even with a booking, the park remains a public open space, and the City cannot guarantee exclusive use or permit any area to be cordoned off. The City does not accept bookings for tables, gazebos, or barbecues located on the reserve, as these are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
