Objectives
The Corporate Sponsorship Program aims to support free or low-cost events, programs, and activities that enhance community vibrancy, promote local engagement, and provide economic and tourism benefits. The program seeks to deliver brand recognition and reputational benefits to the City.
The Corporate Sponsorship Program is guided by the Corporate Sponsorship Program Policy.
Eligibility
To be eligible for sponsorship, applicants must:
- Be an Australian legal entity with a valid ABN and/or ASIC registration.
- Deliver the event, program, or activity within the City's local government boundaries.
- Ensure the event, program, or activity is free or low-cost to attend.
- Accurately estimate the number of participants and/or attendees.
- Demonstrate financial viability through underwriting expenditure or support from other sponsors.
- Not have received support for the same event, program, or activity through the Corporate Sponsorship Program or any other City funding program in the current financial year.
Requirements
Applications will be assessed based on:
- Event, program, activity profile
- Community engagement and contribution to local events and initiatives.
- Promotion of arts, sports, learning, and recreation.
- Reputation and Brand
- Positive exposure and media coverage for the City's brand.
- Environmental impact
- Integration of sustainable practices.
- Culture and Diversity
- Integration of diverse cultural perspectives and sustainable practices.
- Accessibility and inclusivity of the event, program, or activity.
- Economic impact and engagement of local businesses.
- Good governance

Key dates
Round one:
- Applications open: Monday 6 July 2026, 9am
- Applications close: Friday 28 August 2026, 5pm
- Review and assessment: September–October 2026
- Recommendation to Council: Tuesday 17 November 2026
- Notification of outcome: Following November 2026 Council meeting
Potential round two: (subject to available funding)
Please note, in instances where corporate sponsorship funds are not fully allocated, the City will consider a second round in early 2027. This opportunity is not guaranteed. Applicants must:

- Deliver the event, program, or activity within the City of Joondalup boundaries.
- Ensure the event is free or low-cost to attend.
- Not have received funding for the same initiative in the current financial year.
Ineligible applications include:
- Events already funded by the City in the same financial year.
- Activities that are unlawful, politically or religiously motivated, or harmful to the environment.
- Requests for general business expenses or capital expenditure.
Yes, but you must submit a booking request and may need to complete an event application form. Venue hire costs apply as per the City’s fees and charges.
Yes, if your sponsorship is approved. The City will provide logo usage guidelines, and all materials must be submitted for approval before production.
Any significant changes must be submitted in writing and approved by the City’s Chief Executive Officer to maintain the validity of the sponsorship agreement.
No. Sponsorship is not recurring. Each application is assessed independently, and previous funding does not guarantee future support.
Organisations may apply once per financial year.

- 50 per cent upon signing the agreement and submitting a valid invoice.
- 50 per cent after the event and submission of a complete acquittal report.
A report must be submitted within 60 days of the event. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of the final payment and affect future applications.
