City launches campaign to inspire kindness

The City is bringing a fresh approach to customer service, designed to foster warmth, patience and respect in every interaction.

Rather than focusing on prohibitive warnings, we’re shining a light on the values that make our community great: courtesy, kindness and neighbourly respect.

City staff are part of the community, working to help residents access services, information and support. They often act as facilitators or messengers, not policy-makers, and deserve the same patience and understanding we extend to one another in daily life.

Whether visiting one of our four Joondalup Libraries or our Administration Centre, calling for information or emailing about services, residents will now see messages that reinforce:

  • smiles and good manners go a long way
  • respect and patience create better outcomes for everyone
  • kindness is the foundation of a strong community.

By focusing on kindness, we hope to make every interaction constructive and strengthen the connection between residents and the people who serve them.

Every conversation – whether in person, on the phone or online – is an opportunity to show kindness and respect.

If you have received great service or a helping hand from one of our staff members, send them a message of appreciation and help us celebrate community kindness. Simply fill out the form below.
