Joondalup Libraries has two beautiful programs designed especially for young children and their families - Stories in the Park and Sensory Story Time.
Stories in the Park
Every Tuesday in November, families with children aged 2–4 are invited to enjoy story time under the trees at some of Joondalup’s most scenic parks. These 30-minute sessions feature stories, songs, and nature-inspired crafts that spark creativity and connection.
Bring a picnic blanket, invite your family and friends, and let the kids explore storytelling in the fresh air. It’s a perfect way to combine outdoor play with early literacy.
- 4 November - Barridale Park, Kingsley
- 11 November - Robin Park, Sorrento
- 18 November - Otago Park, Craigie
- 25 November - Neil Hawkins Park, Joondalup
Sensory Story Time
For children who thrive in quieter, more structured environments, Sensory Story Time offers a calm and welcoming space. These small-group sessions include stories, songs, and activities that promote literacy, followed by sensory playtime. They’re especially beneficial for children with sensory sensitivities.
