Child Safe Organisations: Fundamentals

Understanding the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations - and being able to identify, recognise and respond to child safety risks and concerns - is essential for safeguarding children and young people in organisational settings. These risks sit both within and outside an organisation.

In this session, we will:

  • unpack the principles of being a child safe organisation
  • explore contemporary data and trends on abuse and harm
  • understand the landscape, frameworks and industry requirements
  • discuss safe behaviours and boundaries when working in a child safe organisation
  • clarify legislative requirements, reporting obligations and processes.

Facilitated by Olivia Brown (Safeguarding Training Australia), an experienced consultant specialising in safeguarding practice, education, governance and organisational compliance.

Ideal for volunteers, organisation employees, committee members, coaches and anyone working with children in community settings.
