SOLD OUT - Discovery session - Mindful mending

Learn how to give your clothes a new lease on life and reduce the amount of clothing going to landfill. Whether you’re a beginner or a more advanced “sewist”, this workshop is designed to show you enough to carry on this beautiful craft with confidence, as well as build on any existing knowledge and skills.

In this interactive session, we’ll look at examples of visible mending, cover different terminology and techniques, and discuss mending ideas for individuals to work on repairing or embellishing their garments

What's included:

  • all workshop materials (including Sashiko needle and thread)
  • basic visible mending notes
  • ideas and inspiration from not only your facilitator Elise, but from the people sitting in the room with you - you’ll find this part invaluable!

What to bring:

  • garments (jeans, shirts, jumpers, cardigans, socks) or home textiles (tea towel or tablecloth) that have rips or holes that need repairing.
  • embellishments (buttons, patches, fabrics etc) that are meaningful to you - not a requirement.
  • your imagination and enthusiasm!
