Artist Tarryn Gill joins TRIBUTE Curator Tim Carter for a conversation about her newly commissioned artwork for the City of Joondalup art collection.
Inspired by her upbringing in Joondalup and connection to the West Coast Calisthenics Club, Gill’s new work reflects on girlhood, community, and the role of sport and recreation in shaping identity and belonging. During the talk, she will share personal stories and insights into the experiences, memories and creative processes that have influenced both the commission and her wider artistic practice.
Working across sculpture, installation, photography, film, drawing, performance and theatre design, Gill creates works that draw on movement, memory and personal experience. Influenced by her background in dance and Calisthenics, her practice explores ideas of identity, emotion and connection through richly layered materials and imagery.
Complimentary tea, coffee and morning tea refreshments will be served.
