Thanks to your ideas, the transformation of Davidson Terrace is about to become a reality.
Construction on the Davidson Terrace Streets Alive project will commence around mid-October, marking the next stage in the community-led revitalisation of this important Joondalup City Centre street. The project is expected to be finished in time for Christmas.
Funded through a $75,000 Streets Alive grant, the project has been shaped by extensive community engagement with local residents, businesses and community groups. The upgrades will create a greener, safer and more welcoming destination that encourages people to spend time in the city centre and support local businesses.
From community ideas to reality
Community feedback helped shape the vision for Davidson Terrace, identifying priorities such as improved pedestrian spaces, increased greenery, better accessibility and a more vibrant street environment.
The final design reflects these priorities and has been developed in collaboration with a community project group to ensure the outcome aligns with the values and aspirations of the local community.
What to expect during construction
- Works will be undertaken in stages, with civil works completed first followed by landscaping works.
- Construction duration: mid-October to early December.
- Road closures will be in place while construction is underway.
- During construction, there may be temporary changes to traffic conditions, parking and pedestrian access. These impacts will be carefully managed and communicated throughout the project.
Local businesses remain open
Davidson Terrace businesses will remain open and operating during construction.
The City encourages residents, workers and visitors to continue supporting local cafés, restaurants, retailers and service providers throughout the works. Access to businesses will be maintained wherever possible, and your ongoing support will help ensure Davidson Terrace remains a vibrant destination during and after construction.
A street shaped by community
The project will deliver enhanced public spaces, improved pedestrian amenity, increased greenery and better connections throughout Davidson Terrace, creating a more vibrant and welcoming destination for everyone.
Thank you to everyone who contributed their ideas and helped shape the future of Davidson Terrace. Your feedback has played a vital role in bringing this project to life.
