Our community asked, and we listened!
From Monday 1 September, Duncraig, Whitford and Woodvale libraries will open at 9am on weekdays - half an hour earlier than their current 9.30am start.
The earlier opening time supports students, job seekers, parents and early risers who rely on our services, quiet spaces and internet access to begin their day productively.
Organising our library hours more closely with the diverse schedules of our community fosters greater inclusion and engagement and enhances community access to vital library resources and services.
The new opening times now align the Duncraig, Whitford and Woodvale branches with Joondalup Library and the Reference and Local History section, which already have a 9am opening for the public, and with contemporary local government public library opening hours in surrounding local government areas.
It’s a small shift with a big impact!
