It is hereby notified for public information, in accordance with section 87 of the Planning and Development Act 2005 that the Minister for Planning approved the City of Joondalup Local Planning Scheme No. 3 Amendment No. 20 on 19 March 2026 for the purpose of aligning the scheme with the land use categories and permissibility for short-term rental accommodation in accordance with the deemed provisions of the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015.
The key change proposed was to replace the land use ‘bed and breakfast’ with ‘hosted short-term rental accommodation’ and ‘holiday house’ with ‘unhosted short-term rental accommodation’.
A notice to this effect was published in the Government Gazette on 31 March 2026.
