The City has recently developed an informative resource to help school communities manage the daily commute, aiming to reduce traffic congestion and create a safer environment for families.
Getting to School Safely is designed for schools and families and highlights the benefits of active transport, outlines appropriate Kiss and Drive etiquette and reinforces safe and legal parking around schools.
The document includes useful contact details and clickable links that direct readers to helpful websites and further information such as:
- the City’s Kiss and Drive Safety video
- the City's Parking Local Law
- rules for eRideables
- Your Move: a travel behaviour change program.
The resource has been formatted as a pamphlet ready for printing and folding should your school wish to distribute hardcopies to families. To request a copy of the document to share with your school, contact the Active Transport Officer on info@joondalup.wa.go.au
All students deserve a safe commute to and from school by foot, bike, bus or car. Please remember to be patient and respectful of each other and respectful of road rules and parking regulations, to ensure students are getting to school safely.
