The City had thirteen schools and over 800 entries into our Waste Monster naming competition! After difficult deliberation our monsters have been named.
Congratulations:
Cody Bennett from Connolly Primary School for naming our yellow monster Rex.
Annabelle Porzig from Duncraig Primary School for naming our red monster Wally.
Jack Huggins from Mullaloo Heights for naming our green monster Chip.
Each monster is responsible for one of our kerbside waste streams;
- garden organics - Chip
- co-mingled recycling - Rex
- general waste - Wally
What scares the monsters?
Some items can cause fires or make fires worse. Keep these items out of all bins take them to a designated drop-off location.
These include:
- batteries
- embedded batteries (chargeable devices, or any item which flashes, plays sound or moves without a power cord or removable battery)
- aerosols
- household chemicals
