Calling all primary schools within City of Joondalup to participate in our Waste Monster Naming Competition.
The City has three Waste Monsters in need of a suitable name. These characters will feature in ongoing waste education communications.
The competition will run throughout term two 2026 and is open to:
- students in Years 3-6 or
- homeschooled students aged 8-11 years of age at the time of entry.
Entries close on Wednesday 1 July 2026 and three winners will be chosen – one for each monster. Winners will be selected by a panel of City staff. Each winner will receive a $100 Visa Gift Card and their school will receive $500 to support waste-related education or infrastructure. Supporting resources are provided in the competition packs to help teachers engage students in learning about sustainable waste practices.
