The amazing Duncraig Adventure Playground is now open, complete with an imaginative new companion: a beautifully illustrated children’s book by local author-illustrator Sean E Avery and Caris Bailey.
The Sensory Monsters Playground introduces families to 13 unique Sensory Monsters, each representing a different sensory preference. Every monster has its own mini quest located within the playground, helping children explore, play and understand how their senses shape the way they interact with the world.
Families can meet characters such as Squishy, the tactile seeking monster who invites children to create a mud sculpture and Itchy, the tactile avoidant monster who prefers wearing gloves as a sensory support.
Each activity is designed to help children recognise what feels comfortable for them, whether they seek, avoid or adapt to different sensory experiences.
The Sensory Monsters Playground is now available at all City of Joondalup Libraries and is proving to be very popular. Reserve your copy today!
