The City of Joondalup is a proud Plastic Free Council Member. Plastic Free July is a global movement that helps millions of people be part of the solution to plastic pollution – so we can have cleaner streets, oceans, and beautiful communities. Will you be part of Plastic Free July by choosing to refuse single-use plastics?

By participating, the City is supporting the community to choose to refuse single-use plastics directly and helping to create cleaner communities and a sustainable future.

Plastic Free July provides resources and ideas to help you (and millions of others around the world) reduce single-use plastic waste everyday at home, work, school, and even at your local café. Ready to take the Plastic Free July challenge? Participants tell us that the tips and tricks in our weekly emails during July help them to keep motivated during the challenge. People also enjoy reading stories from our participants and other news from our global movement.

How you can participate:

Join 174+ million people worldwide taking small steps that make a big difference to reduce waste and single-use plastics this July.

If you are just starting out, focus on the most popular single use plastics to avoid - takeaway coffee cups, plastic drink bottles, pre-packaged produce and plastic food wrap. Form or join a group to take the challenge together. This could be the start of a life-changing experience for you, your family, friends and colleagues.

The Plastic Free July website is a great place to get inspiration and support, and to share your tips, ideas and experiences. The City has planned a great range of activities to support you in reducing single-use plastics this July. Find out more below:
