Join the repair movement!

Repair Labs are a volunteer run event coordinated by the City’s Waste Services team helping to keep damaged items out of landfill. The Waste Hierarchy outlines five behaviours related to waste, ordering them from most preferred to least preferred. Repair is classified under the realm of Avoid, the first preference action within the Waste Hierarchy.

Our planet has limited resources, by choosing to repair items rather than discarding and replacing them we can reduce the demand on earth’s resources and support a sustainable future for generations ahead.

A bi-monthly Repair Lab will occur at Sorrento Community Hall on the third Saturday of the month within January, March, May, July, September and November. Skilled volunteers with a variety of skills will be repairing from 9am-11am.
