The City of Joondalup's revamped website has been recognised on the international stage.
Launched in October 2024, the City’s website has made a big impression over the past three months, earning an honourable mention at the prestigious Kentico Site of the Year 2024 competition. This accolade places it among the top websites worldwide built on the Kentico platform.
Kentico is a leading online platform that hosts more than 35,000 websites across 120 countries.
Judges praised the site for its user-friendly design, seamless navigation and robust functionality, saying its powerful features set a new benchmark for local government websites.
The website's design ensures that essential services and information are easily accessible, enhancing the overall user experience.
Joondalup Mayor Albert Jacob said Kentico’s recognition was a fitting accolade for the City and just reward for its ongoing commitment to leveraging technology to improve public services and community engagement.
“Advances in technology has meant local governments need to better use technology to deliver their services and engage with their community,” he said.
“For the residents and visitors to Joondalup, this recognition translates to a more intuitive and engaging online experience.
“We are proud of this recognition, which reaffirms the City’s position as a leader in digital innovation, and we remain committed to continuously improving our online services to meet the evolving needs of our residents."
Features of the City’s improved website includes:
• intuitive navigation - simplified menu structures and clear pathways to information
• responsive design - optimised for all devices, ensuring a consistent experience across desktops, tablets, and smartphones
• interactive tools - online forms, event calendars, and service request systems
• enhanced accessibility - adherence to the latest accessibility standards.
The City worked with Perth web development agency ALYKA on this project, who were selected through a tender process.
