Enjoy spring at the Libraries this October with a range of fun activities that inspire creativity and encourage curiosity.

Please note:

  • Cost is $5 per child per activity.
  • Online bookings open at 9am on Monday 14 September.
  • Bookings and online payment are essential; there will be no refunds issued.
  • Parents/carers of children under 12 years are required by library policy to remain in the building while their children attend the event.
  • There is a maximum of three events per child.

Design a Jigsaw PuzzleWednesday 30 September, 10-11am, Woodvale LibraryGet creative and design your very own jigsaw puzzle for others to solve. A fun, hands-on activity that encourages imagination and problem solving.
Suitable for ages 6-10 years.
Alpacas and Stories - Session 1Friday 2 October, 11am-midday
Duncraig Library
Story Time gets extra fluffy! Trot along to this special alpaca-themed Story Time and meet real life alpacas from Mamoes Alpaca Farm.
Suitable for ages 4-9 years.

Create your own jokes with Australian illustrator and writer Mark Guthrie. Mark will teach the process and layout of designing a joke book from the very first page to the last punchline.

Cartooning with Mark GuthrieWednesday 7 October, 1-2:30pm
Joondalup Library
Create your own fun and colourful cartoons with Australian illustrator and writer Mark Guthrie. Mark will share his experiences working for Walt Disney Studios and help children explore character design, facial expressions and simple drawing techniques.

Create a Circuit MazeThursday 8 October, 10-11am
Whitford Library
Do you have excellent hand-eye coordination? Test your skills as you work in pairs to design and solve a buzzing circuit maze. Learn about simple circuitry and challenge yourself and your friends.
Suitable for ages 8-12 years.
Dungeons and DragonsThursday 8 October, 2:15-4:15pm
Woodvale Library
Join in for an epic Dungeons and Dragons adventure full of mystery, teamwork and daring quests. Guided by a friendly Dungeon Master from Totally Board, players will build characters, solve problems and bring their fantasy to life.
Suitable for ages 13-17 years.
Wild Wind ChimesFriday 9 October, 10-11am

Let your creativity shine by painting and decorating your own beautiful mandala and minibeast sun catcher and wind chimes. Take home your colourful masterpieces to display in your garden or share with someone special.
