Enjoy Autumn at the libraries this April with a range of fun activities that inspire creativity and encourage curiosity.

Please note:

  • Cost is $5 per child per activity.
  • Online bookings open on Monday 31 March at 9.30am.
  • Bookings and online payment are essential, there will be no refunds issued.
  • Parents/carers of children under 12 years are required by library policy to remain in the building while their children attend the event.
  • There is a maximum of three events per child.

Celebrate the WA Tree Festival and enjoy a magical morning of nature stories and games with the Freedom Fairies. Create your own nature wand out of sticks, leaves, nuts and clay to make magic in your own garden at home.
Suitable for ages 5-8 years.

Sensory MonstersSOLD OUT - WAITLIST AVAILABLE
Join local children's author-illustrator Sean E Avery, and paediatric occupational therapist Caris Bailey, for a fun session based on their new picture book Sensory Monsters. Identify and learn about your own sensory preferences and then unleash your creativity by designing and building a unique sensory monster plasticine model. Suitable for ages 7-10 years.

Stop motion spectacular - SOLD OUT
Unleash your imagination and learn how to create your very own mini movie! All materials provided, this workshop is perfect for both beginners and animation enthusiasts. Suitable for ages 8–12 years.

Nagomi pastel art - SOLD OUT - WAITLIST AVAILABLE

Discover the serene world of Japanese Nagomi pastel art with Haiyi. Enjoy a creative and calming afternoon learning the techniques of colour blending and composition and create your own special pastel artwork to take home.

Celebrate the WA Tree Festival by planting special seedling and decorating your own pot. Learn how to care for the seedling with the Freedom Fairies and enjoy an afternoon of fun games and nature stories. Suitable for ages 5-10 years

Learn about the bold and colourful style of Australian artist Pete Cromer and create your own beautiful bird artworusing collage and experimenting with shapecolour and texture. Suitable for ages 8–12 years.

Free activities – no bookings required

Treasure Hunt
Visit the Libraries any time during the school holidays and complete the native tree treasure hunt as part of the WA Tree Festival. 

Story Time
Come and enjoy stories, songs and creative play at our regular story time sessions.
Suitable for children 2-4 years. 

Holiday Toddler Time
Woodvale Library, 10am
Thursday 17 April and Thursday 24 April
Join in these special holiday sessions, with stories, singing, movement and active play. Suitable for children 18-30 months.
