Step into Volunteering - November
- Monday, 25 Nov 2024
- Whitford Library
The City of Joondalup encourages volunteering within the community. Learn about the benefits of volunteering and how to get involved:
Volunteering is willingly sharing your time, passion, and purpose to provide a positive influence in your community. People volunteer for many reasons and are reportedly happier and healthier as it increases the feeling of self-worth, purpose, connectedness and provides overall better mental health. Volunteering can also provide pathways to employment by helping people gain work readiness skills and confidence.
Volunteering also offers opportunities to connect with diverse communities, meet like-minded individuals, and forge lasting relationships.
The Joondalup Volunteer Resource Centre (JVRC) facilitates volunteering opportunities by offering an engagement point to link potential volunteers with volunteer involving organisations and community groups. The centre helps people find the perfect volunteer role that best suits their interests and skills.
The centre is located in the Whitford Library. Pop in for a visit.
Throughout the year there are volunteering opportunities, celebrations, and observances to acknowledge volunteers' contribution, value and impact that volunteering has within the community. Sessions are run by the Joondalup Volunteer Resource Centre at various Libraries.

'Step into Volunteering' is an informal introduction to volunteering. It can assist those who are volunteering for the first time and anyone seeking different volunteer experiences.
