Discovery Session – Basic Bottling

A demonstration of basic home preserving, reusing jars from other products. Kath will fill pre-loved jars with a low sugar preserve and use new lids to ensure they seal. She will discuss the reasons for the steps involved in hot water bathing to vacuum seal the jars, so they are food safe and shelf stable until opened. This talk follows on from Kath’s "Preserving the Harvest" talk at Duncraig Library last October.
