Electronic waste (E-Waste) disposal

E-waste is old electronic technology which has been out dated or no longer needed such as televisions, computers, mobile phones etc. In fact, e-waste is the fastest-growing component of the municipal solid waste stream.

Disposal and Recycling of E-waste

E-waste is not permitted in the recycling bin (yellow lid). Domestic quantities of e-waste can be taken for free, 7 days a week 8.00am – 4.00pm at these permanent facilities:

  • Tamala Park Recycling Centre, 1700 Marmion Avenue, Tamala Park – (08) 9306 6303
  • Recycling Centre – Balcatta, 238 Balcatta Road, Balcatta – (08) 9345 8555

The items you can drop off include:

  • Computer equipment
  • Printers, scanners
  • Telephones, faxes
  • Mobile phones
  • Digital cameras and video cameras
  • Gaming equipment
  • Televisions, video players, DVD players
  • Home appliances
  • White goods

There are several drop off locations around the City for alternative materials such as batteries, that are not accepted in the general waste bin (red lid) or the recycling bin (yellow lid), including e-waste – Where to recycle batteries and other items – City of Joondalup.
