Hillarys Beach Park (Whitfords Nodes)

Park closures during construction of health hub

Work is set to commence on one of the City’s most anticipated projects with ground to be broken on the Whitfords Nodes Health and Wellbeing Hub.

Stage one work will include construction of a new playspace (including shade sails), picnic shelters, barbecues, drink fountains, additional footpaths, outdoor fitness equipment, power and water outlets, tree planting and improved irrigation system.

To accommodate this work, sections of the park will be unavailable for use from Monday 12 August.

The tender for Stage two works has yet to be awarded. This stage will include the construction of an exercise stairway with an elevation of 21m on the northern dune, as well as a new lookout and associated infrastructure.

Section one is scheduled to re-open to the public on Saturday 23 November with Section two scheduled to re-open to the public on the 1 May 2020.

The main car park, beach access via the coastal dual use path and toilet block, will remain open to the public during both periods.
