Public Art: Metal Trees and Mosaics, 2002

Artist: Kevin Draper and Indra Geidans

The sculptural trees resulted from the Australia-wide National Metal Industry Sculpture Project in 1994. Reflective of the new building in the northern corridor, the trees canopy’s form the silhouette of a house. These artworks were originally installed at Joondalup arena.

In 1999 the Joondalup Arena gave these public artworks to the City and they were relocated to Central Park.

In 2002, as a response to the Metal Trees, artist Indra Geidans worked with participants from Disabled and Disadvantaged in the Arts Australia (DADAA) and Creaney Support Centre to create mosaic motifs of the flora and Fauna local to Central Park.
