Bush Animal Weaving Workshop

Join Yjindibarndi and Djaru artist Emma-Jane Hunt for a playful weaving workshop inspired by Australian bush animals and native creatures.

Using colourful materials and simple weaving techniques, participants will create their own handmade bush critter to take home — from cheeky lizards to squishy honey ants and other curious native animals, designed especially for children and families. Emma-Jane was taught to weave by Martu Weavers from the Western Desert while living in the East Pilbara and is passionate about keeping weaving alive as an important cultural practice.

This event is part of the City's 2026 NAIDOC Week celebrations. Check out our full program of events here.
