Invitation Art Prize

From robotic vacuums and kinetic sculpture to the Kimberley night sky, this year’s exhibition brings together ten newly commissioned works at the Joondalup Contemporary Art Gallery.

Taking part are David Attwood, Amanda, Bell, David Brazier, Christophe Canato, Jacky Cheng, Brett Leigh Dicks, Louise Malarvie, Amy Perejuan-Capone, Ash Tower and Ben Galmirr Ward, with works spanning painting, photography, sculpture and installation.

Each year, the Invitation Art Prize showcases the work of Western Australian artists, with an independent judging panel selecting the winner of the $25,000 prize. Judges consider the quality of the work and its connection to the Joondalup community, with the winning artwork added to the City’s permanent Art Collection.

Getting there

You’ll find the Joondalup Contemporary Art Gallery between the Joondalup Library and City of Joondalup Administration Centre, next to the Council Chambers. 

Free public parking is available in the Library Car Park. Alternatively, the gallery is a 13-minute walk from Joondalup Train Station, or you can catch the Blue CAT Bus that departs every 15 minutes from Joondalup Station.

Accessibility

Joondalup Contemporary Art Gallery features a flat, level floor surface and wide doorways. There are accessible toilets available in the gallery, with more located in Joondalup Library next door.

The Joondalup Library Car Park features accessible parking bays, including lift access to the main walkway from the underground car park.
