See WA’s best emerging musical talent take the stage for the City of Joondalup Young Musician of the Year Grand Final.

The Young Musician of the Year Award Grand Final returns to Redmond Theatre, as five outstanding young musicians go head-to-head for the 2026 title.

Enjoy an afternoon of exceptional live music as the winners of five instrument categories – Brass, Percussion, Strings, Woodwind and Piano – take to the stage for one final performance.

Five categories. One Grand Final. One title.

Presented by the City of Joondalup in partnership with Perth Symphony Orchestra, the competition shines a spotlight on some of Western Australia’s brightest young musicians aged 14–23.

Following the performances, one musician will be crowned City of Joondalup Young Musician of the Year 2026, receiving $2,500 and the opportunity to perform with Perth Symphony Orchestra during its 2027 season. Second and third place will receive $1,500 and $1,000 respectively, with a $5,000 total prize pool up for grabs.
