The City of Joondalup is set for a vibrant start to 2026, with an exciting line-up of activities and events designed to bring new energy into the city centre and offer residents and visitors a reason to discover everything Joondalup has to offer.

Under the banner Experience Joondalup – One Destination, Endless Experiences, the program features a diverse mix of creative, active and family-friendly experiences that will run across the summer and autumn months.

Health and wellbeing will take centre stage, with Move, Stretch and Sweat sessions held in Central Park every Sunday in February, as well as on 1 March and 11, 18 and 25 April.

The program combines yoga and high‑intensity fitness, giving residents a chance to start their Sundays feeling energised and refreshed.

Families with young children can look forward to Messy Play on the Lawn, a weekly inclusive playgroup for children aged 0–5 years held on the Joondalup Library lawn every Tuesday from 3 February during the school term.

The sessions encourage sensory play, creativity and social interaction in a relaxed outdoor environment.

As autumn approaches, the city centre will also host an Outdoor pop-up cinema, with drive-in and walk-in movie sessions planned for early April at Central Walk Parking Station. The open-air screenings will offer a nostalgic, family-friendly night out under the stars.

For those looking to tap into their creative side, Paint and Sip in Central Park is set to feature on 31 January and 11 April.

These daytime workshops invite participants to unwind, enjoy the outdoors and create their own artwork in a fun, social setting.

This exciting season of activity will be supported with the popular Joondalup Night Markets, transforming Central Walk Parking Station into a bustling hub of food trucks, artisan stalls and live entertainment.

The markets will run on 14 February, every Saturday throughout March during the Joondalup Festival and again on 4 April, offering a relaxed evening out for families, couples and groups of friends.

And there is plenty more to come with a series of live entertainment events that will take place across local hospitality venues, showcasing local performers and adding to the vibrancy of Joondalup’s dining and nightlife scene.  Keep an eye out for details.

Joondalup Mayor Daniel Kingston said the initiative reflects the City’s commitment to creating a lively, welcoming and engaging city centre that supports local businesses and strengthens community connection.

“We want people to feel that the Joondalup city centre is a place where things are happening, where you can meet friends, enjoy great food, get active, try something new or simply soak up the atmosphere,” Mayor Kingston said.

“This program brings together everything that makes our city centre special, and I encourage everyone to come along and be part of it.

“The program is designed to appeal to all ages and interests, creating memorable experiences, encouraging people to spend time in our city centre and supporting the local businesses that make Joondalup a great place to live and visit.

“Whether you’re here for the markets, a fitness session, a creative workshop or a night at the pop-up cinema, we want you to feel part of a thriving, connected community.”
