Joondalup Libraries are getting behind Active August to promote a a mentally healthy WA.

There are many great ways to stay active for your mental health – and it’s not just about moving your body. Every bit counts!

  • Spiritually active: Nurture your spirit through faith, time in nature, mindfulness, or creative practices such as our Mindful Mending group.
  • Physically active: Move your body in ways that feel good – walk, stretch, dance, garden, or swim.
  • Mentally active: Challenge your mind with a puzzle, new skill, book, or hobby – whatever works for you. Our Brain Games group is ideal!
  • Culturally active: Explore your culture, share traditions, and connect with your community. Learn how to explore your family tree at our weekly Family History Help sessions.
  • Socially active: Catch up with a friend, join a club, or simply chat with a neighbour – staying connected is good for you. Bring your toddler along to one of our weekly Toddler Time or Story Time sessions.
