Tracy has been a frequent visitor to Whitford Library since she retired several years ago, taking advantage of our free public internet computers, printer and scanner.

She uses our secure PCs to complete and submit forms to Centrelink, her bank and other government agencies. “There are a lot of forms to fill out when you retire and many require a secure internet connection for lodgement, which I do not have. So, I would spend a few hours at Whitford Library scanning and completing forms and then printing them or lodging them online.”

Tracy has called on staff for support when she has struggled with reducing file sizes for email or saving documents in the correct format. “The staff are amazing and have been a great help for me. Every time I have needed help, they have gone out of their way to help me and make sure I have what I need.”

Tracy was also able to transfer all of the photos from her phone onto a thumb drive with the help of staff, who provided her with an adapter to get her started. “Having been a victim of an online identity scam, I wanted to remove all of the photos from my phone but wasn’t sure how to go about this. The staff, Josh in particular, were amazing and patient with me. Help is always available when I need it, which is a huge relief.  I am so grateful that these services are available to us.”

Thank you Tracy for sharing your library story with us and thank you to our amazing staff for making a difference every day!
