
Professor Maryam Omari has been the Executive Dean of the School of Business and Law (SBL) at the Joondalup Campus of Edith Cowan University (ECU) since January 2016. She is the first female, and the longest serving Executive Dean of the School. Maryam is a member of the University’s Executive team and has held a number of previous academic leadership positions at the Joondalup campus including: Program Director MBA and Graduate Studies; Associate Dean International; Director of Undergraduate Studies; and Human Resource Management Course Coordinator.
Maryam first taught at the Joondalup campus of ECU in 1996 before most of the iconic buildings were completed, including the building that was to become the School of Business and Law for over 25 years.
Maryam has grown and repositioned the School through leading and managing a significant change agenda which has resulted in cultural, structural, academic and curriculum renewal. Under Maryam’s leadership the School of Business and Law grew to be the largest School at ECU bringing a significant number of students, staff and residents to Joondalup.
Maryam has a PhD, Master of Business (Human Resource Management), Graduate Diploma of Business (Management) all from ECU, and a Bachelor of Science from UWA.
