Rosco McGlashan has spent his life chasing speed. Inspired at age 12 by the late Donald Campbell’s Bluebird land speed racer, Rosco left school early to pursue his dream of becoming the fastest man on earth. His first motor racing break came in 1971 when he was given a drive in a Pro Stock drag car. Rosco was an instant success story in drag racing.
In 1994, after years of determination and innovation, Rosco set the Australian Land Speed Record at 500 mph (802 km/h) in his jet-powered car, Aussie Invader 2, earning the title “The Fastest Aussie on Earth.” Rosco got a chance to run Aussie Invader 3 in 2000 and the car recorded a peak speed of 638 mph (1,026 km/h) which was faster than the British teams previous record of 633 – 1022 km/h, a history making record from an Aussie backyard shed. Rosco’s current project, Aussie Invader 5R, is set to accelerate from ZERO to 1,000 mph (1,600+ km/h) in 20 seconds and break the world land speed record.
Rosco McGlashan, known as “The Fastest Aussie on Earth,” has earned national and international recognition for his achievements in motorsport. He received the Order of Australia Medal in 1998 and the Premier’s Award in 1999, alongside multiple international jet dragster titles. His honours include entry into the Australian Roll of Honour, the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport Award, and induction into the RAC WA Walk of Fame in 2012. Beyond racing, Rosco is a motivational speaker, charity patron, and the subject of award-winning documentaries and global media coverage.
