
Sally Pilbeam is a right arm and shoulder amputee from Edgewater. She is a mother of two boys, a teacher, Paralympian and a two time world champion paratriathlete. At the age of 21, Sally was diagnosed with a rare cancer and amputation was the only treatment option. Since completing her first race, Sally has gone on to be one of the most successful paratriathletes in Australia. Competing at her first World Paratriathlon Championships in 2013, Sally has since competed in 11 World Championship Events, finishing on the podium in 7 of those – 2 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze. Sally also competed at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris. Earlier this year, Sally was inducted into the WA Women’s Hall of Fame for her contributions to sport.
Sally has lived in the City of Joondalup for most of her life, growing up in Duncraig and now raising her family in Edgewater. She has been a member and volunteer of various community clubs over the years and taught at many schools within the City.
