There is a variety of paid and unpaid parking throughout the City of Joondalup.
Free parking
The City of Joondalup is now providing 30 minutes free on street parking within the heart of the City. Whether you are using the EasyPark app, cash or card parking meter, you will not be charged for your first 30 minutes. Drivers must ensure they start a parking session in the EasyPark app or via an on street meter, to utilise the free time.
Unpaid parking is available at many of our City facilities, including community spaces, libraries, parks, and along the coastline, with both general parking and ACROD parking bays available.
It is imperative that drivers check parking signage and ensure they understand the restrictions outlined on the signs prior to parking their vehicle. Illegal parking inconveniences other road users and increases the risk of accidents. Please ensure your vehicle is parked legally when visiting these spaces.
Paid parking (weekdays only)
Paid parking areas are found within the Joondalup City Centre, at most on-street parking locations and car parks.
Please ensure to check the time restriction on the signs when parking your vehicle.
Parking fees are applicable. Parking on weekends and public holidays is free, and timed parking restrictions don’t apply.
Medium and long term parking
Car parks are available for medium and long-term parking at various locations throughout the City Centre for all paid parking areas.

Parking meters
City of Joondalup have installed new parking meters within the City Centre for all paid parking areas.
These meters are solar operated, ticketless, pay-by-plate meters. Along with the EasyPark App, this provides a flexible, environmentally sustainable and efficient experience for motorists parking in the City of Joondalup.
How to use:
- Park your car, taking note of your registration number, and enter on the meter.
- Use the +/- or slider on the screen, to select the amount of time you intend to park, up to the maximum allowed.
- Tap your phone, credit or debit card, complete the payment process and go.

No, the current parking fees will remain unchanged.
The City will employ LPR (Licence Plate Recognition) technology in vehicles to monitor parking duration. Additionally, Field Officers will have the capacity to search plate numbers within our parking system.
After payment is processed, you can request a digital receipt. When prompted on the screen, select “Yes” to receive a receipt. You can then scan the QR code to download the receipt to your phone.
Alternatively, note the code displayed on the screen and visit my-receipt.com to download.
Most areas of the City will have at least one cash-accepting parking meter, although the majority of meters are cashless. Some locations may feature card-only meters. Signage will be installed shortly to indicate which meters accept both cash and card, and which are card-only.

Initially, the number of parking meters was set up to allow patrons to walk from their car to a nearby meter and back. With the introduction of Pay-by-Plate meters, patrons no longer need to return to their vehicles after paying for parking, or even use a meter if using the EasyPark App.

Unfortunately, the City cannot provide refunds for unused parking time.
Paying with a credit card or PayPass may result in additional fees from your bank. We recommend checking with your card provider.
If payment hasn’t been made, you can cancel your transaction on the screen.
No, provided you are using a meter within the same street or carpark as which you are parked. Using a meter outside of that parking area may result in incorrect fee being paid and you may receive an infringement.
Yes, you can enter your registration plate number into any machine within the same parking zone to see the remaining time.
Yes, as long as the new spot is within the same parking zone. If you move to a different zone, you’ll need to start a new parking session.
