Joondalup Health Campus is the largest health care facility north of Perth CBD. This, combined with the opening of a number of subsidiary health services in and around the Joondalup City Centre over the past few years, positions the City of Joondalup as the medical base for Perth’s northern corridor.
The $257 million expansion of the Joondalup Health Campus will see a new acute mental health building, additional emergency department and inpatient beds as well as new state-of-the-art facilities which will better service the needs of the community.
The recent addition of Linear Clinical Research, Breastscreen WA, Rocky Bay and Telethon Clinikids strengthen Joondalup’s future as the health hub for the estimated 500,000 person catchment forecast for 2041.
The health services industry was the leading employer in the region for 2021/22 with 9,788 health care employees and this is expected to grow with current expansions and relocations in the region.
Joondalup City Centre allows health care providers to connect with emerging talent and innovative technologies through its close proximity to Edith Cowan University, North Metropolitan TAFE and the Australian Medical Association of WA Training College.
The City of Joondalup fosters partnerships and networking opportunities to ensure local businesses, however big or small, can work together to create a healthy future for the community.
