About City libraries
The City has evaluated how it can best respond to relaxed COVID-19 restrictions proposed in Phase two of Western Australia’s road map to recovery announced by Premier Mark McGowan on Sunday 10 May 2020. The City’s highest priority remains the health and well-being of the community and visitors to the City.
The City of Joondalup Libraries will open with in a staggered approach to ensure the health and safety of the community and its visitors remains the highest priority.
On Monday 18 May 2020 Joondalup Library will be open to 20 customers at a time, Monday to Friday 9.00am – 5.00pm.
To ensure social distancing there will be a concierge style service admitting customers to the library for 30 minutes at a time. Customers are welcome to browse and loan items or access public computers and printing facilities. No program or events will be scheduled.
At this stage, Duncraig, Whitford and Woodvale Libraries will remain closed until further notice but will offer Click and Collect Service for customers who wish to maintain self-distancing.
City of Joondalup libraries form part of the largest and busiest public library services in Western Australia with a range of items available to borrow, events to attend and facilities to enjoy. The City has four libraries – Duncraig, Joondalup, Whitford and Woodvale – including a specialist reference and local history collection at the Joondalup Library.
The City’s libraries have opportunities for all ages and lifestyles, and offer the following:

Joining the City’s libraries is absolutely free. Your membership will give you free access to all manner of items and digital content. The library spaces are available to all residents, tourists and visitors, families and businesses to enjoy without membership. Please note that the City’s libraries charge for some programs, meeting spaces and overdue fines.
Publications and merchandise
While the City’s libraries offer a predominantly free service, merchandise items, printing / copying services and some events have a small charge.
