The City is offering a 50% rebate for the purchase of select reusable products from 1 July 2026. Reusable products are an important part of transitioning to a more sustainable circular economy and can save us hundreds, even thousands of dollars over our lifetime.  

There are many types of reusable products on the market, each with their own advantages. We recommend researching each product to understand which may work best for you. It is not uncommon to use different products for different circumstances.  

The reusable product rebate is divided into three categories and includes the following products: 

Reusable menstrual product rebate - 50% rebate, up to a value of $50, per household.

Eligible products include: 

  • menstrual cups 
  • period underwear 
  • menstrual discs 
  • cloth pads.

Reusable nappy rebate - 50% rebate up to a value of $80, per household.

Eligible products include: 

  • reusable nappies 
  • reusable nappy inserts 
  • reusable swim nappies. 

Reusable incontinence product rebate - 50% rebate up to a value of $80, per household.

Eligible products include: 

  • reusable incontinence underwear 
  • reusable incontinence pads.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Purchase your reusable product/s of choice.
  • Obtain a tax receipt listing the item/s purchased.
  • Fill in the Reusable Product Rebate Application Form, which will be available from Wednesday 1 July. 
    • Attach your receipt of purchase.
    • Attach a copy of your proof of residence (e.g. current driver’s license, rates notice, utility bill). 
  • Submit your completed form with attachments.
  • Your application will be reviewed and, if approved, funds will be deposited into your account within 28 days of application submission. 

Yes, you can still apply!  

The rebate is limited to one per household, however we recommend making use of the full rebate amount within one application.

Yes, each household can apply for one rebate per rebate category.

Yes you can, so long as you have proof of residence (such as your address on a form of ID).
