Support Services

  • Crisis Accommodation – Entry Point Perth – Crisis accommodation options and a 24 hour emergency contact list.
  • Hardship and Homelessness Support – Download the Joondalup and Wanneroo Hardship and Homelessness Support directory and find out about the wide range of support services available.
  • Thrive – Housing Authority – Holistic housing for public housing residents which provides support to identify and tackle challenges, improve life household skills and community involvement.
  • Bond Assistance and Rent Advance Loan Scheme – Housing Authority – Bond assistance or two weeks private market rent in advance interest-free loan for eligible applicants.


  • Housing – Housing Authority – Low cost rental accommodation for eligible individuals. If eligible, applicants may be placed on the public housing priority list.
  • National Rent Affordability Scheme – Department of Social Services – Affordable rental properties for people on low to moderate income households. Check available properties on and/or register with the local Tenancy Manager.
  • Community Housing – Housing Authority – Community housing is affordable housing for people on low to moderate incomes. To apply for community housing with the Housing Authority, complete an Application for Rental Housing form and tick the YES box on the cover page that asks “Do you also wish to be considered for a community housing property?”.

Home Ownership

  • Low Deposit Home Loan – Keystart – Lower entry cost loans including no lender’s mortgage insurance.
  • Shared Ownership Home Loan – Keystart – Low deposit, shared ownership (with the Housing Authority- lowering the loan amount) home loans with no lender’s mortgage insurance.
  • Access Home Loan – Co-ownership (with the Housing Authority- lowering loan amount), low deposit loans, with no lender’s mortgage insurance for people with disability or their carers.

 Private Landlords Incentives – Affordable Rentals

  • Tax incentives for investments in affordable housing – Australian Taxation Office – An additional ten percentage point capital gains tax (CGT) discount is available for resident individuals who invest in qualifying affordable housing for eligible tenants. This will increase the CGT discount up to a maximum of 60%. Qualifying housing must be managed through a registered community housing provider (CHP) under the CPH program parameters.
