National Volunteer Week 2020
National Volunteer Week (NVW) is an annual celebration to acknowledge the generous contribution of more than six million Australians who volunteer their time.
Volunteering brings communities together. The City would like to thank all the dedicated volunteers who service the Joondalup community. Thank you to Joondalup Volunteer Resource Centre for its partnership and service to volunteering within the City of Joondalup. During this uncertain time, it is more important than ever to recognise and acknowledge the valued volunteers that support others in hardship. Learn more about volunteering.
International Volunteer Day
International Volunteer Day (IVD), mandated by the UN General Assembly, is held each year on 5 December. It is viewed as a unique chance for volunteers and organisations to celebrate their efforts, to share their values, and to promote their work among their communities, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), United Nations agencies, government authorities and the private sector. With over 600,000 volunteers in Western Australia, IVD is a day for mass celebration. Volunteer Involving Organisations celebrate the contributions of thousands of volunteers who support their programs and services to the community. Various events are held around Western Australia including thank you breakfasts, BBQs, afternoon teas, volunteering expos and much more.
