Joining the library
Following State Government advice in response to the COVID-19, as of Monday 23 March 2020 all public libraries were closed indefinitely. A Click and Collect service is available through Joondalup Libraries to ensure everyone can continue to borrow books, music CDs and DVDs.
Anyone can join a Joondalup library.
Residents of any age, visitors, schools and care centres can join Joondalup libraries. When you join at Joondalup, Duncraig, Whitford or Woodvale, your library membership will cover all the services offered at all four libraries. Even if you live outside the City of Joondalup, you are able to join the library.
Click the link below to join online and become an instant digital member. Get access to online resources and eBooks. Digital memberships must be validated in person with identification to borrow physical items.
What identification do I need to join the library?
Children under 18 need a parent or guardian with ID to join them, but don’t need their own identification. The City’s libraries require official documents showing:
- Home address
This can be a single document, such as a drivers licence or a combination of documents which may include:
- Driver’s licence
- Phone/power/water bill
- Health Care Card
- Bank statement
- Rent agreement
- Proof of Age card
If you cannot provide documentation showing name, address and signature, please consult staff for other limited or online membership options.
Bulk Loan Memberships are available for Adult Day Centres, Schools and Child Care Centres within the City of Joondalup.
