Electronic waste (e-waste) disposal

E-waste is old electronic technology which has been out dated or no longer needed such as televisions, computers, mobile phones etc. In fact, e-waste is the fastest-growing component of the municipal solid waste stream.

Disposal and Recycling of E-waste

E-waste is not permitted in the recycling bin (yellow lid). Domestic quantities of e-waste can be taken for free, seven days a week, 9.00am – 4.00pm, at these permanent facilities:

  • Tamala Park Recycling Centre, 1700 Marmion Avenue, Tamala Park – 9306 6303.
  • Recycling Centre – Balcatta, 238 Balcatta Road, Balcatta – 9345 8555.

The items you can drop off include:

  • Computer equipment
  • Printers, scanners
  • Telephones, faxes
  • Mobile phones
  • Digital cameras and video cameras
  • Gaming equipment
  • Televisions, video players, DVD players

There are several drop-off locations around the City for alternative materials, such as batteries, that are not accepted in the general waste bin (red lid) or the recycling bin (yellow lid), including e-waste.
